Sweep all debris off the redwood deck. Spray the deck clean with a garden hose or power washer. Allow the deck to dry thoroughly.
Scrub the surface of the redwood deck with #0000 steel wool pad soaked with denatured alcohol or paint remover wash. Allow the redwood deck to dry thoroughly.
Pour stain into a paint pan. Make sure the stain description states the product has a mold-resistant chemical in it. Although resistant to moisture, linseed is especially inviting to mold. Dip a long-handed paint roller into the pan to cover the roller with stain. Apply stain to the redwood deck. Work in 4-foot sections. Allow the stain to dry thoroughly.
Apply the tung or linseed oil to the dried, stained deck with a paintbrush or clean cloth. Apply additional oil to areas that look dry and wipe away any excess oil with a cloth. Allow the oil to sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
Smooth rough patches on the deck with a #0000 steel wool pad.
Sweep debris and dust from the deck again.

Sweep debris and dust from the deck again.
