Apply paste to the back of the wallpaper. Align the wallpaper at the top, leaving 2 inches extra for trimming. Smooth the paper onto the wall, starting at the center and working to the edges to squeeze out any air bubbles.
Continue applying the wallpaper in this manner until the wall is covered. Trim the edges using a sharp box cutter. Use a seam roller to get a smooth, tight finish.
Allow the wallpaper to dry thoroughly for one week.
Roll the base coat onto the wallpaper using a roller with a thick nap. Use a dark, metallic gray paint for a traditional tin look. Allow the paint to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Apply a thin layer of a light gray or white metallic paint just to the top of the embossed wallpaper. Use a small sponge roller with a thin or medium nap to ensure the paint coats only the top part. Let the paint cure.
