How to Use Metal Halide Lighting

Light your indoor plants with metal halide bulbs to maximize the growth of your vegetable plants and all types of houseplants. Metal halide bulbs cast off a light spectrum in the blue-white range, which is optimal for growing vegetables, as it generates energy for photosynthesis.

Use metal halide bulbs in exterior lighting for commercial buildings. They are a cost-effective way to illuminate dark areas to prevent accidents and deter crime. Because of their brightness, fewer bulbs are necessary to light the same space. Metal halide lighting also is suitable in large indoor spaces such as supermarkets, warehouses and factories.

Place an aquamarine- or aquarium-specific metal halide light on your fish or large marine tank to mimic sunlight and promote a healthy marine environment. These bulbs work well in reef systems and, on a smaller scale, in your home aquarium.
