Troubleshooting Exit Lights

Power up the exit light and then press and hold down the "Test" button for five seconds. If the exit lamp goes out before you release the "Test" button, go to the next step.

Charge the battery. Commonly, it takes a full 24 hours to obtain a full charge. Perform the manual test again.

Take off the locking screw and then slide the exit light off of the mounting bracket. Use a screwdriver to turn the diffuser's release points shown at its base and then remove the diffuser. Hold both ends of the lamp and turn it 90 degrees to release it and remove it.

Grab the new lamp and line up the holder slots horizontally. Hold both ends of the new lamp and insert it into exit light holder slots. Insert the lamp and rotate it 90 degrees until it sits securely in place.

Reinstall the diffuser and mounting bracket.

Take off the locking screw and then slide the exit light off of the mounting bracket. Use a screwdriver to turn the diffuser's release points shown at its base and then remove the diffuser.

Remove the battery from its holder and dispose of the old battery based on the federal, state and city laws. Connect the new battery, and reinstall the diffuser and mounting bracket.
