Instructions

    • 1

Connect the positive wires of the crystalline silicon solar cell to the positive wires of the rechargeable battery. Twist the wires together firmly in a clockwise motion. Tape the exposed wires using electrical tape.

    • 2

Connect the negative wires of the solar cell to the negative wires of the rechargeable battery. Twist the wires together firmly in a clockwise motion. Tape the exposed wires using electrical tape.

    • 3

Place the positive wire from the LED light into the positive input of the rechargeable battery.

Place the negative wire from the LED light into the negative input of the rechargeable battery.

    • 4

Secure a 100-gram weight to the bottom of the glass mason jar using super glue. The weight at the bottom of the jar causes the top of the jar to float upright.

    • 5

Tape the top of the solar cells to the top of a glass mason jar. This will generate energy to power the LED light.

    • 6

Close the top of the glass mason jar. Snap the lid in place. Because of its rubber seal, the glass mason jar is waterproof when closed.
