  Decide the best option for changing the color of your track lighting fixture. You can choose colored lenses, colored bulbs or bulbs with interchangeable front glass filters or lenses.

  Purchase your lenses or bulb set from an online retailer or brick-and-mortar outlet. Make sure your fixture can accept snap-in lenses, if you choose that option. If purchasing bulbs, make sure they are within the wattage range that your fixture will accept; too high a wattage could create a fire hazard.

  Install your bulbs or lenses on your track lighting fixture. Take your time and put safety first. You'll probably need a step stool or ladder to reach the lights. Get another person to hold the ladder steady while you are on it, and never step on the top rung of any ladder or it could become unstable.
