Outdoor Solar Stake Directions

Smarthome solar stake lamps are a quick and easy way to add light to walkways, patios and gardens. Charged by the power of the sun, these LED lights provide 100,000 hours of illumination with no wires or external power source. They contain a single, replaceable AA 1.2-volt, 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery. A full, sunny-day charge of the battery will provide up to ten hours of warm light at night. The built-in sensor turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn.

Instructions

    • 1

Charge each light in direct sunlight for at least eight hours before turning it on the first time.

    • 2

Place the lights where they will receive at least eight hours of sunlight per day -- but away from other sources of illumination, which may prevent the built-in sensor from properly turning them on and off.

    • 3

Push the mounting spike securely into the ground. Push the stake onto the spike. Push the light body onto the top of the stake.

    • 4

Make sure the light is standing vertically so sunlight falls straight onto the solar cell on top of the lamp.

    • 5

Turn on the automatic on/off switch. Test the light's function by covering the solar cell to simulate dusk and verify that the light turns on.
