How to Hang Solar Patio String Lights

Solar-powered lights provide illumination without the cost of electricity. In addition, the lack of power cord allows the lights to hang in places without an outlet in reach. You can hang solar-powered string lights to illuminate a patio in front of your house or in your backyard. Supplies that most households have on hand are needed.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a ladder against one side of the house on the patio. Position the solar collector at the end of the string lights on the edge of the roof.

    • 2

Turn the solar collector over, if necessary, so that the solar panel faces up. Tape the sides of the solar collector to the roof using duct tape.

    • 3

String the solar patio string lights across the edge of the patio roof. Insert a push pin between the wiring of the lights into the edge of the roof every foot or so. Remove the ladder.
