How to Hang Tealight Lanterns

Tea lights, short candles encased in a metal base to contain the melted wax, cast a romantic glow for evening events. Tea lights are often displayed in lanterns made of glass or metal to protect the candle from wind and to contain the open flame. Most tea light lanterns have a handle or hook on the top for easy hanging. Visit a home store or a design shop to find attractive hooks and stands from which to hang the lanterns.

Instructions

    • 1

Place shepherd's hooks along a pathway or sidewalk. Push each hook firmly into the ground, tapping with a rubber mallet if necessary. Hang a tea-light lantern from each shepherd's hook, using the lantern's hook or handle.

    • 2

Create a glowing centerpiece with a small lantern stand in the middle of the table. Dangle a tea-light lantern from the stand's hook to add a warm ambience to the surroundings.

    • 3

Drape a decorative chain between trees in the garden or along the front of the house or reception center. Hang lanterns at intervals along the chain, using the hooks on the lanterns. If the lanterns only have handles, use S hooks to attach the handles to the links in the chain.
