Strobe lights blink at set intervals to make an appearance of slow motion movement in the room. Most strobe lights are traditional white light, but the color cast by a strobe light can be tinted almost any color using theatrical lighting gels. Gels are thin colored plastic sheets that are used to color stage lighting. They are put into a gel frame and attached to the front of a light to make the light a different color.
