Electric luminaries let you add light to a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, including walkways, porches, driveways, trees and staircases. The lights contain a single bulb, require batteries or an electrical outlet, and are safe around children and pets. As with traditional candle luminaries, you need to anchor electric luminaries to keep them from tipping over. However, you won't need any special weights, tools or objects.

     Place the luminaries in the location you want to illuminate.

     Scoop 1 to 2 tbsp. of sand into each luminary.

     Spread the sand with your fingers to balance it evenly inside each luminary. Keep the sand away from the luminary's lightbulb; otherwise, it will block the light.
