How to Hang a Triple-Socket Cord for Paper Lanterns

A triple socket cord for a paper lantern allows you to power three light bulbs from one cord, saving you space at the electrical outlet. Most triple socket cords come with an on and off switch so you can leave it plugged in. The cord is only meant for interior use. In order to hang the cord, you must first hang the lanterns.

Instructions

  Measure the distance between the three socket heads to determine the width at which to space the lanterns. The socket head instructions may contain this information making the measuring unnecessary.

  Locate a suitable spot for hanging the lanterns inside that is within range of an electrical outlet.

  Mark the location on the ceiling for each paper lantern with a pencil. Space the lanterns at a distance short enough to accommodate the socket heads.

  Install the hooks of your choice at the spots along the ceiling. Hang the three lanterns over the hooks.

  Place each socket head from the triple socket cord into the lantern by hanging it from the hook so it extends downward into the hole in the top of the paper lantern.

  Install a light bulb into each socket and plug in to use.
