DIY 6V LED Candle

An LED candle is a safe and efficient alternative to a conventional candle. LED lights are durable, consume little power and emit little heat. In the long run, an LED candle will be much more cost effective than a traditional candle that needs replacement. Constructing an LED candle takes less than an hour and the parts required are readily available. The candle can be any color. However, white is recommended because it will be the brightest.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a drill press to hollow out the candle. Drill 10 inches in, leaving only half an inch on the sides of the candle.

    • 2

Connect a six volt LED control module to a mini six volt battery. The control module should come with a remote so it can be turned on and off easily. The module acts as a switch.

    • 3

Attach a six volt LED or LED light cluster to the control module. The exact method of attachment will vary, depending on the LED module that you use. However, it should be a very straightforward process. The LED will have two connector wires--one positive and one negative. Plug them into the positive and negative terminals on the control module.

    • 4

Insert the battery, control module and LED light into the hollowed out candle in that order, with the lights on the top.

    • 5

Use the control module remote to turn on the LED candle.
