How to Install 120V LED Lighting

Light emitting diodes are increasing in usage and popularity due to their high brightness, efficiency and long life. LED lighting for decorative home illumination is commonly found on rope lights. These devices are curved and bent around corners, and usually placed in soffits and under kitchen cabinets. Best of all, the wiring for these lights simply requires a 120 volt AC outlet to activate.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the rope light into an AC outlet in close proximity to the chosen installation location.

    • 2

Pull the rope light snug, but not tight, along its path. Avoid bending the light beyond 90 degrees to prevent possible breakage of the delicate internal wires connecting the LEDs together.

    • 3

Secure the light along its path by clipping a plastic cable clamp every few inches around the light. Drive a Philips screw through the holes on the clamp to secure the section of light. Repeat until the LED rope lighting is secured and devoid of dips and sags.
