Measure the size of your recessed fluorescent lighting fixture, then measure and cut a piece of sheer fabric that is a little bigger than the fixture. Make the fabric about a 1/2 inch to an inch wider on all sides than the fixture.
Tack the fabric to the fixture using thumb tacks. Refrain from stretching the fabric too tightly on the light, as this is a potential fire hazard. Rather, hang the fabric loosely around the fixture.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until all the fluorescent lighting fixtures you want covered are covered. Use the same type of fabric or different fabrics and colors for each fixture.
Measure the size of your recessed fluorescent lighting fixtures and write the measurements down for purchasing decorative light panels. Such panels come in numerous options, including sky and clouds, sky, clouds and flowers or hot air balloons, stained glass, ornamental iron and stone marble. Purchase one type of panel or a variety of panels depending on preference.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for correctly installing the decorative light panel over the recessed fluorescent panels. The panel should seamlessly cover the entire fixture.
Repeat Step 2 until all of your fixtures are covered.
