Drill a hole in the center of the round wooden base to accommodate the bottom of the lamp post.
Rub the edges the hole with the sandpaper to smooth and shape it evenly.
Slide the bottom threads of the lamp post into the hole in the wooden base.
Screw the washer and bolt onto the lamp post threads underneath the wooden base. The lamp post should be attached to the base.
Insert the wires of the lamp cord through the hole under the base and up through the lamp post until 4 inches of wire extend out of the top.
Attach the wires of the lamp cord to the lamp socket and add the socket cap according to the manufacturer's directions.
Pull the lamp cord gently from the bottom, back through the lamp post and screw the socket cap onto the top of the lamp post.
Attach the lamp harp onto the socket.
Place the wooden base on the piece of felt. Trace the outline of the base onto the felt with the marker. Cut out the circle of felt.
Cut a 2-inch "X" in the center of the felt.
Apply epoxy in three rings around the bottom of the wooden base.
Insert the lamp plug through the "X" and press the felt against the epoxy on base. Dab more epoxy in a ring along the edge of the felt and press it firmly against the base. Let it dry according to the manufacturer's directions.
Brush the wooden base with the wood stain. Let it dry according to the manufacturer's directions.
Position the bottom curved edge of the horseshoe onto the wooden base, resting it against the lamp post.
Lift the horseshoe and dab the wooden base and side of the lamp post with epoxy. Replace the horseshoe, pressing firmly.
Apply two pieces of masking tape to secure the horseshoe to the base. Let stand until the epoxy is dry according to the manufacturer's directions. Remove the tape.
Attach the shade and finial to the lamp harp.
Screw in the light bulb and plug in the lamp.
