How to Decorate a Chandelier With Grapevine Twigs

Grapevine garlands add the whimsy of nature to any room in your home. They’re appropriate for all cold weather months, transforming easily from an autumn decoration to a winter accessory. Grapevines look especially charming strung in a chandelier. The vines provide a natural element in your home that is out of reach of children and pets. You can decorate for the season without worrying about little fingers or paws ruining your décor.

Instructions

    • 1

Spread out your grapevine garland and find both ends. Step up onto a stepping stool so you can reach your chandelier with ease.

    • 2

Tuck one of the ends of the garland up around the base of your chandelier and gently wrap it down around the body of the chandelier to the arms with the lights.

    • 3

Weave the garland in and out of the arms in a random pattern. If the pattern is too regular, the grapevines won’t look natural.

    • 4

Slide the wires of faux autumn leaves, gourds and acorns into the garland, gently wrapping the wires around the garland. Place the decorations in random clusters of different sizes for a natural look.

    • 5

Replace the autumn decorations with winter ones when the first snow falls. Gently remove the autumn pieces and replace them with holly bundles, evergreen twigs and faux chestnuts and walnuts.
