Hanging a Swing Arm Lamp Next to My Bed

In bedrooms, space is at a premium. It seems that no matter how large the bedroom there is never enough space on the bedside table. One way to add space is to think vertically. Examine the wall space at the head of your bed and consider installing a swing arm lamp. These lamps swing out of the way when not in use and are handy for use while in bed. As an added bonus, they are stylish, come in designs to fit virtually any decor and are easy to install.

Instructions

    • 1

Mark the lamps placement on the wall with a pencil. If you plan to install two swing out wall lamps on either side of the bed you need to measure to ensure symmetrical placement on the wall. The lamps are normally attached with screws either into a placement bracket or directly into the lamp itself.

    • 2

Attach the swing arm lamp to the wall. Using the included screws, attach the placement bracket to the wall and slide the lamp onto the bracket. If there is no placement bracket, use the included screws to attach the lamp directly to the wall.

      Plug in the lamps.
