How to Make Your Own Chandelier With an Exposed Bulb

All you need are a few items from your local hardware store and recycled light bulbs from your home to get started. Even beginning crafters can make a chic chandelier for any room in the home.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure a 4-by-1/2-foot piece of chicken wire. Cut the wire to size using wire cutters. Form the chicken into a cylinder cage and secure the ends with steel wire. Roll the cage on its side a few times to round out the wire.

    • 2

Cut the wooden dowel using a handsaw so that its length matches the diameter of the chicken wire cage. Wedge the dowel across the top of the cage and affix it with steel wire. Make sure the cylinder is balanced by lifting the cage by the center of the dowel.

    • 3

Attach the pendant lamp kit to the dowel using steel wire. Screw at working light bulb into the pendant lamp socket.

    • 4

Cut 10 10-inch pieces of steel wire. Wrap one end of each piece of wire around each old light bulb. Affix the free end of each wire to the pendant lamp wire above the working bulb.

Arrange the recycled bulbs to your liking so that the overall design is visually appealing. Attach the chandelier to the ceiling and make adjustments as needed.
