Instructions

    • 1

Spray paint your chandelier to update an older fixture. Black or white spray paints are neutral colors that will blend with almost any decor. Tape the sections of the chandelier that you don't want painted before beginning to paint.

    • 2

Add chandelier shades to cover your chandelier bulbs. Choose a color that will complement your decor. Add textured shades -- burlap, silk, paper, metal, embroidery, straw or rattan -- to add visual interest.

    • 3

Decorate your chandelier with keepsake items, such as jewelry, keys, vacation souvenirs, key chains, small cards, miniature books. Use jewelry wire to attach the keepsakes to the chandelier.

    • 4

Deck your chandelier in holiday regalia by hanging decorative Christmas ornaments from wire hooks. Intertwine holiday greenery throughout the arms of the chandelier and insert dried flowers, such as roses in assorted colors, to add an old-world feel.

    • 5

Hang an assortment of sparkly crystals or prisms in a variety of sizes and shapes from a plain chandelier, adding a glamorous touch. Use jewelry wire to hang the glitzy pendants.
