Cover the doors with a fresh coat of paint. Wash the closet doors with a mixture of 1 tablespoon tri-sodium phosphate and 1/2 gallon water to remove any dirt, grime or dust before applying a latex primer. Paint a mural on the doors. Close the doors and sketch the mural’s design over both doors. Create the mural with semi-gloss paint yourself or enlist the help of an artistic friend or family member to add character to the space.

Cover the doors with wallpaper. Choose a pattern that works with the existing colors in the space or continue wallpaper that’s already present in the room to create a seamless effect.
