How to Make a Mosquito Net Cover

Mosquito bites create red swollen blotches on skin that itch intensely. The bites are not only annoying, but can also transfer diseases. You can prevent being bitten by sitting inside a mosquito net cover. Mosquito netting keeps mosquitoes out. You can make your own mosquito net cover with the right fabric.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the width and length of a single or full sized mattress, depending on how large you want the mosquito net cover.

    • 2

Buy netting from a fabric store. Polyester netting is most suitable for the mosquito net, plus it is lightweight and cheaper than other fabrics.

    • 3

Spread out the netting on a flat surface. Find the center of the netting; this is where you will attach the plastic hanging pole.

    • 4

Place the plastic pole parallel to the shorter side of the netting.

    • 5

Stitch the plastic pole into place in the center of the netting. Use the needle and thread to loop around the pole and through the netting to secure it. Alternatively, you could stick it into this space using fabric glue.

    • 6

Create a large loop of string with a circumference of approximately 2 meters. Thread it underneath the middle point of the pole, then tie it.

    • 7

Hang the mosquito net cover up. Use the loop of string to suspend it. Flare out the the bottom portion of the netting so it encompasses the mattress and allows space for a person inside.
