How to Attach Cultured Stones

Cultured Stones are a form of stone veneer that can be applied to interior or exterior structures to create an aesthetically pleasing look. You can have this type of veneer installed professionally, or, if you're more of a do-it-yourself type, you can install the stone veneer yourself. Cultured Stones are available online, at name brand stores or at home improvement stores such as Lowe's.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the surface of the job site thoroughly with a wire brush and a garden hose. Remove all dirt and debris so the surface is completely clean before cement paint is applied. Allow the surface to dry completely before installing Cultured Stones.

    • 2

Paint one side of a stone veneer piece with the cement paint. Allow 5 to 10 seconds for the glue to dry before placing it on the clean surface.

    • 3

Press the cultured stone against the surface and hold it in place for at least one minute. Remove pressure slowly, and make sure the stone doesn't fall and break. If the stones do not stick, reapply a thicker coat of cement paint and try again.

    • 4

Repeat until all of the stones are in place. Allow at least 24 to 48 hours for the cement paint to dry completely before applying any pressure to the stones.
