Settle on a theme for the front door. A widely used design incorporates tinted glass into the top quarter of the front door. A basic bolt action lock is best.
Measure the door space. Measure the length and breadth of the door space, and make a separate entry for the width between door jambs. Measure for any extra feature you plan on adding such as a window frame.
Draw the door you envisioned, marking all measurements that you took. The design and measurements should be clearly shown.
Clearly show extra design elements, such as windows, in the drawing. Depict exactly the measurements between the window and sides of the door or the window above the door and the top of the door.
Draw accessories such as door knockers, door bells and door handles.
Color the design using colored pencils to depict the finished door.
