Pour degreaser onto the bar's top surface. Scrub clean with rags to remove any existing build up. Use a soft-bristle brush to remove an excess dirt or grease on the surface.
Line the outer edges of the bar top with painter's tape. Apply a thick border around the surface to prevent epoxy from running down the sides and damaging the surface.
Mix components of epoxy according to package directions. Mix only an amount of epoxy that you can apply within an hour as the epoxy will begin to set quickly. You will need to stir the mixture with a paint stick in a bucket in order to achieve the correct consistency. Pre-mix part A of the solution before adding in the part B chemicals. Exact instructions for mixtures vary based on brand, so it is extremely important to reread all package directions.
Put on rubber gloves and pour a thick layer of epoxy down the center of the bar. Roll the epoxy evenly over the entire bar-top surface. Pour on additional epoxy during the roll-on process if a thicker clear coat is desired. Allow epoxy to dry for 36 to 48 hours before placing any light items on top of it.
