How to Decorate a Black Chaise Longue

On its own, a black chaise longue can make a statement in a room, but adorned with decorative accents, it can become the focal point. Instead of simply placing a black chaise longue in a room and leaving it alone, dress it up with colorful textiles to make it an even more inviting and comfortable place to relax.

Instructions

    • 1

Consider the design of the room the chaise longue is in. The elements you choose to decorate it with should tie into the room's overall design so they become an integral part of the room.

    • 2

Decide on colors and designs for a throw blanket and throw pillows to put on the chaise longue. For example, a zebra print, geometric prints or bold solid-colored pillows and throws are ideal. In a country-chic room, toile, gingham and soft-textured linens in black and white or pastels are options.

    • 3

Purchase throw pillows and a throw blanket that feature the colors and designs you've decided on. Purchase a single blanket, a large throw pillow and two small throw pillows, or three throw pillows of the same size.

    • 4

Drape the throw blanket along the long or short side of the back of the chaise longue. Or, you can drape the blanket on the end of the seat of the chaise. The blanket should look as though you've casually tossed it there.

Arrange the throw pillows on the back of the chaise. If you purchased one large and two small throw pillows, place the large pillow in the corner of the back of the chair and flank it with the small throw pillows. If you're using three pillows of the same size, randomly arrange them along the long side of the chaise.
