Bowling Lane Furniture Ideas

If you have a bowling enthusiast in your family, consider using some elements of a bowling lane in your home. You can use items from the bowling lane to make pieces of furniture, which will add a creative touch to your house. This type of furniture is ideal for a home office, game room or media room.
  1. Lamps

    • If you have a bit of electrical know how, you can easily make a lamp from an old bowling pin. Drill a tube through the center of the pin and use a lamp kit from a building supply store to add wiring and a bulb. You can top it with a pretty shade to finish off the lamp.

    Dining Chairs

    • Dining chairs can be made from old bowling alley chairs to get a retro look. If your local alley is going out of business, offer to buy some of the swivel chairs usually placed in front of the electric score board at each lane. These can be recovered in new fabric if you like to help it tie into your dining room decor.

    Love Seat

    • A love seat made for two can be made from a section of the plastic seats placed at each bowling lane. Offer to buy the piece from a closing bowling alley and keep the arms on the seats to make it look like a loveseat couch. Add throw pillows and blankets to give it a soft feel.

    Headboard

    • A little boy's headboard can be made from a series of bowling pins. Purchase a piece of plywood the same width as the bed. Attach bowling pins vertically across the wood, using a drill. You can attach the wood piece directly to the wall with a hammer and nails.
