How to Make Football Goalposts for a Boy's Bedroom

A football-themed room should be filled with all the elements of a football game. This includes the ball itself, football helmets and the goalposts. A pair of goalposts will make great ends to a bed, or could be placed on two walls of the room. The key to creating a football-themed room for a child is making it as safe as possible for playing in and sleeping in.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a large knife to cut a yellow pool noodle in half. Set one half aside.

    • 2

Add a three-holed connection piece to the top of the half pool noodle. Slide a whole yellow pool noodle horizontally through the open spot on the connection piece. Secure the three pieces to the connection piece using yellow duct tape.

    • 3

Stick a large wooden dowel through the center of the whole pool noodle. Use a saw to trim off any of the end that sticks out. Covers the ends with a piece of yellow duct tape.

    • 4

Add two connector pieces to the ends of the long pool noodle. Stick one yellow pool noodle into an open spot on each side. This will create the two uprights of the goalpost. Secure the connection with yellow duct tape.

    • 5

Insert wooden dowels into the two uprights so they are stiff. Add a piece of yellow duct tape to the top of each one to block out the wood. Now you should see the complete goalpost design.

    • 6

Attach the goalpost to the bed with yellow yarn. Wrap the yarn around the noodle and then cross it across the headboard of the bed. Use three layers of yarn to support the goalposts. If there are no openings in the headboard, extend the yarn to the bed posts or down to the actual bed frame. Repeat the process to create a second goalpost.
