How to Make a Playroom With a Tiny Room

Playrooms are a haven for children, providing a space to play, imagine or tinker. While oversize spaces may seem ideal, they are not a reality in every home. Even when you’re short on space, you can make child’s play of transforming a room into a fun place to delight and entertain children.

      Paint a wall, or a portion of it, with a coat of magnetic paint or chalkboard paint. Provide chalk, erasers and an assortment of magnets to use in the area.

      Place an area rug on the floor that doubles as a game, for example, choose a rug with a checkers pattern or hopscotch.

      Hang a shoe organizer on the back of the door to store small toys to help keep things organized and out of sight.

      Use lightweight furniture, or furniture on wheels, that can be easily rolled into or placed into a closet when not in use; this avoids eating up valuable floor space.

      Set up an easel to complete art projects. Hang a cable on a wall and equip with clips to display the works of art.

      Hang a row of pegs on the wall to store dress-up clothes and accessories.
