     Hold a compass flat in your hand. Approach the front door. If your home has more than one door that leads outside, approach the door most often used by you and your family.

     Open the front door and stand directly in front of it, with your back facing the home's interior. Face the street or yard.

     Look at the compass. Note the direction of the arrow on the compass. This is the front door's direction.
