DIY Basement Cigar Room

A cigar room is a sophisticated sort of man cave, a place where a man and his friends can retire for the evening, smoke some cigars and talk. While a cigar room outside of the house is preferable, using an out of the way place inside such as the basement can be a suitable location. Design your basement cigar room as a do-it-yourself project that gives you a place to entertain friends and get away from life's stresses.
Designing a basement cigar room should be a fun experience where you can entertain friends and have your own little space to get away from it all.

Instructions

Choose a room or space in your basement that is near a window. This window is important so you can ventilate the cigar smoke out of the house.

    • 2

Place a humidor in your cigar room to keep your cigars fresh. Cigars need a place where humidity stays between 60 and 70 percent and the temperature remains constant between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. A humidor provides the correct humidity and temperature.

Set up a window fan so that the smoke is pulled from the room and out the window. Some smoke is fine in a cigar room, but no one wants to sit in a place where you cannot breathe or see your neighbor. Add an air purifier to help keep the air fresh.

Decorate the room with the furniture of your preference. Make it feel like a real cigar room by adding leather chairs and dark, hardwood tables set up according to your style. Other ideas include a card table, television set and a mini-fridge to enjoy wine with your cigars. If you are a sports fan, hang up pennants and other memorabilia on the walls.
