Paint the soccer theme onto the bed. Use a stencil or draw soccer balls with pencil onto the headboard and footboard, then paint. Add a cool element by using glow-in-the dark instead of regular white paint, or by painting soccer balls in rainbow colors instead of plain black and white. This is a fun project you can do with the kids. If the bed doesn't have a headboard, create one by painting, or hiring an artist to paint, a soccer-themed mural on the wall behind the bed.
Put soccer balls on the bed. Tie stuffed soccer balls to the railing of a day bed or nail them up the side of loft bed or bunk beds, to the headboard and footboard of a regular bed or to the bottom of a platform bed. Attach as many as you like or use just one big one. If the bed has underbed drawer storage, replace the regular drawer pulls with soccer ball drawer pulls. You could also hang large or small plastic or stuffed soccer balls in a net from the bed.
Add themed bedding. This can be done in a number of ways. The easiest is to purchase a soccer bedding set. Or if you’re skilled with a sewing machine, purchase fabric that has soccer equipment, goals and balls on it and use it to make a spread, pillowcases and sheets. Another option, and another project you can do with the child, is using fabric paint on a bedspread and painting soccer balls all over it.
