How to Improve the Look of a Red Brick Fireplace

Paint the brick to restores red brick worn down from years of constant use. You can paint the brick red to restore its original look or a different color to capture the essence of your room or serve as the room’s focal point. Clean the brick thoroughly prior to applying the paint, using a scrub brush and water. If stains and dirt remain, use a mild detergent. Sherwin-Williams advises using two coats of interior acrylic latex paint with the use of a paint roller or brush. Apply each coat thinly and evenly.
