# How to Hang the American Flag on the Inside of Your Front Door
When you display the American flag at your home, you show visitors that you take pride in your country. The hanging flag symbolizes patriotism and respect for America, especially during holidays such as Independence Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The American flag commonly is displayed outdoors, but it also makes an ideal decoration inside your home. Hang the flag on your front door to bid farewell to guests as they leave.
Things You'll Need
- Clear tape
- Chair

Lay the American flag flat. Smooth it out to remove wrinkles or creases.

Stick pieces of clear masking tape on the top of the flag. Open the front door.

Hold the corner of the flag with the white stars and blue background, also called the Union, in your left hand. Hold the other corner in your right hand.

Stand on a chair while you hold the flag. Drape 1 or 2 inches of the flag over the top of the door. Do not let the bottom of the flag touch the floor as it hangs. Press on the tape to secure the flag.
