What Colors to Mix With a Mushroom-Colored Leather Couch?

A mushroom-colored leather couch has an off-white cream color that blends well with modern homes. The light color has a clean look that can work with a range of colors, but some shades still clash with cream-colored sofas. Avoid neon colors such as bright orange, pink, lime green, teal or other vivid shades.
  1. Bold or Rich Colors

    • Rich, dark colors such as red, forest green, burgundy or dark brown go well with a mushroom-colored couch. The dark shades contrast against the sofa, but they don't clash. Place striped, solid-colored or other patterned pillows on your cream-colored couch. You can also feature a dark-colored forest green or maroon accent wall in the room and place the couch up against the wall. Combine a few main dark-colored decor pieces in your living room such as rugs, coffee tables and end tables, along with simple decor accents such as picture frames, vases and lamps with a dark-colored base and ivory lamp shade.

    Blues

    • Both light and dark blue walls and decor pieces blend nicely in a room with a mushroom-colored couch. Feature one main shade of blue or mix and match several different shades together. Feature light and dark blue solid-colored leather or suede pillows on the couch and decorate with other blue accents such as rugs, vases, antiques, cobalt blue bottles and framed pictures showcasing scenes with blue flowers.

    Purples

    • All shades of purple complement an ivory-colored couch. Deep purple, lavender, medium purple and other shades in between can create a soft effect in a living room. Adorn your mushroom-colored couch with purple pillows that showcase a variety of purple tones. Feature cotton, leather or velvet pillows with stripes, purple flowers or decorative art. Place a striped rug with different shades of purple directly in front of your sofa, unless you have a coffee table there. Light purple vases filled with lavender flowers or framed pictures with dark purple frames can also go well in the room.

    Earth Tones

    • Earth tones can also blend well with an ivory-colored couch because ivory also falls into the category of a neutral shade. Some neutral shades include tan, beige, slate, gray, grayish-blue and light green. However, the neutral color palette also showcases a wide variety of light and dark shades of brown, green and off-white. Paint the walls one neutral shade, such as beige, and decorate with other neutral decor pieces such as lamps, rugs and neutral colored pots for your plants. Neutral colors also blend well with oak, cherry or other white furnishings.
