How to Cure a Bad Direction of the House in Feng Shui

According to the Chinese art of Feng Shui, your home's direction affects the energy, or chi, that flows through it. The home's chi determines your success with your career, money, love and luck. Feng Shui favors a home with a south-facing front and a north-facing back. If your home's direction is undesirable, it can bring negative chi into your life. You cannot change the direction of your home, but taking care of the home's interior and exterior allows you to counteract negative chi.

Instructions

    • 1

Point a mirror at sources of negative chi to reflect the energy away from your home. For instance, if your home faces the road, put a mirror or glass ball in your yard to reflect the energy coming from the traffic.

    • 2

Clean up the clutter in your home. Discard all trash, unwanted junk mail, broken items and dead plants. Clutter blocks positive energy from your home.

    • 3

Add more light to your home. Darkness encourages negative energy to build up in the home. Use lamps, light strings or candles. Remove bushes or curtains that prevent natural light from entering the windows.

    • 4

Hang crystals around your home. Pink crystals attract love and green crystals attract prosperity. Smoky quartz helps mend broken relationships. Purple crystals enhance wisdom.

    • 5

Put healthy plants in your yard or on a sunny windowsill. Plants like peace lilies and golden pothos help cleanse the air. The money and jade plants both symbolize wealth.

Protect your home by surrounding it with a fence. Putting two stone lions on either side of the front door is another useful way to block negative chi.
