Lay the headboard on a flat surface. Arrange the tiles on the headboard to determine the layout of the design. Make cuts in the tiles, if necessary, with a tile cutter.
Remove one tile at a time from your arrangement on the headboard. Apply tile adhesive glue around the edges of the back of the tile and across the center of the back of the tile, forming the shape of an X. Replace the tile onto the location on the headboard where you removed it. Place the glued side down and firmly press it into place.
Attach all of the tiles to the headboard using the same process as described in step 2. Allow the tiles to dry for about 24 hours.
Select grout for the tile. Choose standard white grout, or opt for a colored grout, such as black, brown or cream. Apply the grout to the surface of the headboard with a tile floater. Wipe off the grout from the surface of the tiles with a damp sponge. Allow the grout to set for 24 hours. The tile does not need to be sealed, as it is only being used as a decorative surface.
