How to Hang Sheer Curtain Panels Like a Scarf Swag

Create a new look for a room without spending any money by re-fashioning your existing window sheers. While these panels are typically hung from the top of a window so that they hang down over the window, since they are so lightweight, they can also be hung as a scarf swag. Simply remove the sheers from the curtain rod and drape them to create a different look.

  Lay the sheer curtain panel on a flat surface.

  Gather the ends of the panel in each of your hands.

  Place the ends of the curtain panel over the ends of the curtain rod, draping the center of the panel under the center of the curtain rod.

  Wrap the ends of the curtain panel one or two times around the ends of the curtain rod, securing the panel to the rod.

  Pull the center of the draped portion of the curtain panel up over the center of the curtain rod. Place the center of the curtain panel over the center bracket of the curtain rod to secure it in place. If the curtain rod does not have a center bracket, pull the center of the panel back around the curtain rod until it meets the rest of the material and use a safety pin to secure the center of the panel to the rest of the material.
