Instructions

    • 1

Lay the headboard face up on a flat surface.

    • 2

Clean a headboard with rubbing alcohol, using a rag, to remove dirt that could prevent epoxy and tile adhesive from adhering.

    • 3

Score the headboard’s surface with a utility knife to promote adhesion.

    • 4

Cut a mirror to the desired dimensions, using a glass cutter. Make the mirror at least half as large as the headboard, but at least three inches smaller than the headboard on all sides. Center the mirror on the headboard. When you’re satisfied with its placement, draw a chalk outline around it.

    • 5

Mix epoxy and hardener together in a 1:1 ratio. Spread the epoxy mixture on the back of the mirror and inside the headboard’s chalk outline. Firmly press the mirror onto the headboard.

    • 6

Cut colored glass into small tiles or mosaic shapes, using a glass cutter. Alternatively, use pre-cut tiles.

    • 7

Spread tile adhesive on a small section of the bare headboard. Press tiles into the adhesive. Continue working around the headboard until it is completely covered with tiles.

    • 8

Fill a grout bag with grout. Squeeze grout into the cracks between the tiles and wipe off any excess with a wet rag.

    • 9

Allow the headboard to lay flat for at least 24 hours to allow the epoxy and adhesive to cure.
