Glass Fiber Optic Trees for Centerpieces

Fiber optics are transparent fibers that are made of pure glass and no larger than human hairs. Many people use fiber optic trees for decoration and centerpieces. From a basic centerpiece to a holiday centerpiece, all you need are a few ideas and a creative imagination to decorate your table.
  1. Basic

    • For a basic centerpiece, place one tree in the middle of the table for decoration. Dress up the tree by placing it on a small silver or gold platter. Place silver and gold candles around the base of the tree. An idea for a long table is to use a couple of trees. For example, place a medium tree in the middle of the table and two smaller trees on each end of the table. Alternatively, line the middle of the long table with a row of small fiber optic trees going lengthwise.

    Sparkling

    • Make your fiber optic trees sparkle with glitter spray. Spray-on glitter spray is available at most retail stores, craft stores and online. Take the trees outside and spray with glitter. The glitter comes in a variety of colors. If your room decorations are red and black, spray the trees with red and black glitter. Then, place the trees on the table to use as a centerpiece. For a quinceañera, spray glitter paint on white fiber optic trees in the party colors and use the trees for table centerpieces.

    Outdoor

    • Create centerpieces for outdoor tables using fiber optic trees. For picnic tables, place the fiber optic trees inside galvanized pails. Decorate the pails by painting pictures of the sun, clouds and flowers. For a small patio table, place a small fiber optic tree in a flowerpot or other small clay pot. When the sun goes down, these trees create a perfect light show on any table. Be sure to bring the fiber optic trees indoors when not in use, as most are not weatherproof and inclement weather can damage the lights.

    Holidays

    • Dress up fiber optic trees for the holidays. For Halloween, place orange and black fiber optic trees in the middle of the table. Take artificial spider web and place some on the trees for added decoration. For Christmas, use green trees and decorate them like you would a Christmas tree. Use miniature ornaments on the tree and place miniature presents under the trees. For the Fourth of July, use red, white and blue fiber optic trees as a centerpiece. Use pink, white and red trees for Valentine's Day.
