Determine how large you want the headboard to be. Use a measuring tape to measure the width of the top of the bed to determine how wide the headboard should be. Place the bed against the wall and measure the height from the top of the bed to however tall you want the headboard to be.
Print out an image of a tiara. Have a print shop blow up the image and print it out.
Purchase a sheet of 1/4-inch-thick plywood. Place the blown-up image of the tiara on the piece of plywood then trace around the image with a pencil.
Use a jigsaw to cut around the transferred image of the tiara from the plywood.
Sand the top of the plywood tiara and the edges with fine-grit sandpaper. Vacuum off the plywood to remove the sawdust then wipe down the surface with a tack cloth.
Paint the plywood tiara with acrylic paint. Use silver or gold for the base of the tiara and stencil in gems of red, blue and purple.
Place the tiara headboard on the wall behind the bed. Screw it in place by drilling 4-inch wood screws through the plywood and into the wall. Place the screws every 6 inches around the edge of the headboard.
Purchase a 10-inch wooden embroidery hoop and remove the outer ring.
Buy two 44-inch lengths of tulle or organza fabric. Place each of the pieces of fabric over opposite sides of the inner ring. Place the outer ring back over the inner ring and screw it back in place. Pull 6 inches of fabric from each of the lengths up from the top of the embroidery hoop.
Cut a 12-inch length of decorative ribbon. Gather the tops of the fabric together. Tie the ribbon in a knot around the top of the fabric. Tie the ends of the ribbon together to form a loop.
Screw a cup hook into the ceiling above the center of the bed.
Hang the ribbon loop from the cup hook. Fan the lengths of fabric on either side of the bed.
