Almost any shade of purple looks nice when paired with red or black. Light lavender or medium purple stands out against a black background, but even dark shades of plum or deep purple can blend well in a red and black bedroom. Sheer lavender curtains with a matching canopy cover or purple bedding may work as decorative accents within the room. Feature other treasures such as purple glass bottles, lavender flowers, and paintings with purple frames or designs. If your bedding contains both red and black, you might want to place a few extra purple pillows on top.
White and pink together create contrasting accents within a room that has a red-and-black color scheme. Pink pairs well with red and it really stands out against black. You might want to create a room showcasing pink, white and red flowers along with black furniture, picture frames and vases that make the colors on the roses or flowers stand out. Pillows featuring pink and white zebra stripes may work in some bedrooms, depending on the overall decor.
Green shades such as sage, pastel green and medium green mesh well within a black and red bedroom. Dark forest green doesn't contrast as well against black, so it's best to use lighter shades of green throughout the room. Incorporate green by placing large plants with light-green foliage in the center of the room, or feature framed pictures with a green border. You also may pair green and red flowers to coordinate the two colors. Look for decor pieces such as pillows or curtains that have mixes of green, red and black within the design and place these accents throughout the room.
Dark blue doesn't work well in a red and black bedroom, but baby blue accents may give the room a soft touch. You may paint a large baby-blue accent wall, then decorate the rest of the room with red and blue flowers, vases and black furniture. Adorn the bed with pillows that showcase black, blue and red, and hang up matching curtains to coordinate the colors.
