About Slatwall Hooks

Slatwall panels are commonly found in retail outlets, though they are also sometimes found in home settings. Sometimes known as slotwalls, these panels have horizontal grooves that can support a variety of inserted hooks and other hanging devices. These slatwall hooks come in a number of styles and varieties and can be used to accommodate a variety of merchandise.
  1. Hooks

    • A slatwall hook is designed to slide easily into the wall slots and allow retailers to hang merchandise from it. These hooks are usually made of steel or other metals and come in various lengths and colors. A typical hook ranges from 1 to 12 inches, though flush hooks that hold merchandise against the slatwall are also available.

    Brackets

    • Slatwall brackets are similar to hooks but are not themselves intended to hold merchandise. Slatwall brackets hold shelves or platforms upon which merchandise can be placed. Like hooks, these brackets attach directly into the slats and are separated to the appropriate lengths. These brackets can accommodate shelves of different lengths and depths.

    Specialty Hooks

    • Many other types of slatwall hooks are available for special needs. One common type of hook is known as the waterfall hook. This is a bar of metal that has different numbers of hooks attached to it at a set distance apart. There are also faceout hooks, round tube faceout hooks, straight bars, hat displays, rectangular tubes and other display options available.

    Other Considerations

    • Slatwall comes in a variety of types and is made from different materials and with different finishes. Depending on the kind of slatwall paneling you have, you may be limited to using certain types of hooks. Always consult the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure you can use the hooks with your slatwall paneling, and never overload a hook or you may damage the hook or the paneling itself.
