Measure the mattress frame. Run a tape measure horizontally along each of the frame’s sides to determine length. Add 1 inch to the length of each side. Determine the height of the frame, placing the base of a tape measure on the floor and pulling it up to the top of the frame. Write down your measurements.
Get a type of decorative plywood in the color and finish you desire. Have the plywood cut to equal the dimensions you took; home improvement stores provide cutting services. You should have two pieces of plywood that equal the length of the top and bottom of the mattress frame, plus 1 inch, and two pieces that equal the length of each of the sides, plus 1 inch. Each of the pieces should be the same height — the height from the floor to the top of the mattress frame.
Position the cut pieces of plywood to form a rectangle — the two longer pieces on either side and the two shorter pieces on the top and bottom.
Apply wood glue to the edges of each of the longer pieces of plywood. Press the shorter inner edges of the shorter pieces of plywood up against the glued edges of the longer pieces.
Nail the wood together. Use a nail gun to insert three nails in a horizontal fashion along the outer edge of each side of the shorter pieces of plywood. The nails should go through the edges of the longer pieces of plywood that are against the shorter pieces.
Set the mattress frame inside the decorative plywood box. The box will cover the sides of the frame and when the box spring and mattress are set on top of the frame, it will be completely concealed.
