Measure the length of the crib and divide the number in half to determine the direct center. Mark the ceiling above the crib in the direct center near to the wall, which will become the start of the canopy wire.
Unroll the cable wire and cut it to 5 to 6 inches longer than the width of the crib with the wire cutters. Repeat the process to make two cables of the same length.
Measure from the wall to the width of the crib and mark it on the ceiling, in a straight line. Make a chalk line with a chalk reel to highlight the line, if necessary.
Drill a hole at the first marker in the ceiling, as close to the wall as possible. Drill a second hole a half inch to the left of the first. Push in the anchor of the turnbuckle into the two holes, and attach the hooks. Repeat the process for the other side of the bed on the ceiling.
Loop the wire through one of the turnbuckle hooks nearest the wall and secure it with a wire clip. Repeat the process for the hook directly beside it.
Thread the curtain through one of the wires; the curtain needs to be slightly longer than the floor to ceiling height. Loop the loose end of the wire into the matching hook on the other side of the crib. Leave 2 to 3 inches of slack. Repeat the process for the other wire.
Tighten the turnbuckle until it is taut; tighten the hooks that are away from the wall. Cut the excess wire with wire cutters. Repeat with the final turnbuckle.
Arrange the curtains so that each one hangs on either side of the crib. Hang a decoration, such as a star or flower, at the center peak of the canopy to mask the seam.
