Clean off the inside of the plastic fiberglass shower using soap and water, then rinse the shower out completely.
Dry the inside of the shower with a towel to remove all moisture.
Spread a 1/4-inch-thick layer of thin-set mortar over the entire surface of the fiberglass shower base using a trowel, then run a mortar rake over the mortar to create grooves.
Press 1/4-inch-thick ceramic tiles halfway into the mortar, spacing them 1/4-inch apart.
Place 1/4-inch spacers in between each tile to hold the tiles in place, then allow the mortar to dry for 12 to 18 hours.
Remove the spacers, then spread a 1/4-inch-thick layer of medium grout over the tile-covered shower base, using the trowel. Scrape the trowel across the tiles to remove any excess grout.
Wipe a damp sponge over the surface of each tile, then allow the tiled shower base to dry for 12 to 18 hours before use.
