Clean the intended wall area thoroughly with soap and water. Rinse with a damp rag and let air-dry for one hour to ensure complete dryness.
Lay out the desired brick pattern on the ground. Use a dowel rod to space the bricks correctly for grout lines. Cut bricks to fit the wall with a tile saw.
Lay bricks in rows beginning from the bottom of the wall. Spread a thin layer of industrial-strength construction adhesive to the back of each brick, then firmly push the brick into the correct place on the wall. Hold for 30 seconds, then let go.
Allow the bricks to set and the adhesive to dry completely for 24 hours. Push sanded grout into the grout lines between the bricks using a grout float. Smooth the grout lines and remove excess grout by dragging the float over the bricks at an angle.
Allow the grout to dry for 30 minutes, then wipe excess grout off of the bricks using a wet sponge. Rinse the sponge often during this step and change the water if necessary.
Apply sealer to the grout liberally with a brush-tipped applicator. Allow the sealer to rest on the grout for 10 minutes before removing the excess with paper towels. Allow to dry for 24 hours.
Ensure the floor is cement to provide correct support for the brick flooring. If your floor is wood, apply construction adhesive to the back of concrete board and nail it to the wood floor.
Remove baseboards on the walls around the floor. Measure your floor area and find the center of the floor. Begin your brick pattern from the center of the room going out toward the walls for optimal visual appeal.
Spread a thin layer of industrial-strength construction adhesive to small area of the floor with a tile trowel. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of each brick and press it firmly into the correct place on the floor. Space the bricks with a dowel rod to allow room for grout. Cut the bricks to fit the floor space using a tile saw.
Allow the tiles to set and the adhesive to dry completely for 24 hours. Apply grout with a grout float. Push the grout into the grout lines and remove the excess grout by wiping the grout float in circular motions. Allow the grout to set for 30 minutes before wiping the excess grout off of the bricks with a sponge. Allow to dry for 24 hours.
Apply sealer liberally to the grout using a brush-tipped applicator. Let the sealer sit on the grout for 10 minutes, then wipe off the excess sealer with paper towels. Let the entire floor area dry for 24 hours before walking on the floor.
