Locate three wooden shutters that are roughly the same size. Visit a thrift store or a salvage yard to create a charming, antique looking screen. Alternatively, you could purchase new shutters from a home improvement store.
Place the shutters side-by-side on a flat surface. Line up the bottom of the shutters, using a level as a guide.
Measure 1 foot from the bottom and 1 foot from the top of the inside edge of the first shutter. Set a pair of hinges at each location so that one of the edges of the hinges is lying flat against the side of the shutter. Drill a 2-inch wood screw through each of the holes on the hinges, driving the screws through the shutters.
Press the middle shutter up against the opposite side of the hinges that are now attached to the first shutter. Drill 2-inch wood screws through each of the holes on the hinges, driving them through the side of the middle shutter.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to attach the middle shutter to the remaining shutter.
Attach self-adhesive furniture glides to each of the edges along the bottom of each of the shutters.
