Install wood paneling in your room to give yourself the feeling you're in a small shed built with clapboards.
Get wooden furnishings and leave them unfinished, such as shelving units, tables or benches, Alternately, use an actual potting bench for storage or to display items. Distress them further by hitting them with chains, or give them a crackle-paint treatment to make them look old and weathered.
Bring in lawn and garden furniture for lounging, such as wicker rockers, Adirondack chairs or a free-standing porch swing. This type of seating will bring the feeling of the outdoors inside.
Hang floral-print curtains and use floral print rugs and throw pillows to bring a little splash of color and texture into the room.
Scatter stacks of pottery on the shelves and place potted plants liberally around the room. Add a peg rack and hang hand rakes, trowels and garden gloves to accessorize.
Accessorize further with items purchased at your garden center -- such as a brass sun sculpture, stepping-stone door stop or a gazing ball centerpiece. Tuck garden gnomes and animal statuary among the shelves and along windowsills.
