How to Fill Space Behind a Fireplace Surround & Wall

A fireplace surround gives your home a large, texturally diverse visual element, and it gives the room a sense of grandeur and importance. To look its best, your fireplace surround needs to sit snugly to the wall. Gaps and spaces between the fireplace surround and the wall may appear over time, or you may notice them immediately after installing the fireplace surround. Fill the gaps as soon as you notice them to prevent further shifts.
